The Radius+ team is excited to announce that we’ve released our newest map layer- the Location Affordability index!
The Location Affordability Index intends to help investors better understand the cost of living in a given area. The Radius+ team picked the values below to help determine an area's affordability. Data is presented at a census tract level.
Median Selected Monthly Owner Costs gives investors a sense for the Monthly owner costs that include mortgage payments, utilities, fuel, and condominium and mobile home fees, where appropriate. Median monthly owner costs could indicate housing prices and living costs in the census tract. This can help users better understand the real estate activity in the given area. Higher ownership costs can mean high demand for housing in that neighborhood.
Median Gross Rent helps users gauge the demand for housing in a census tract compared to other neighborhoods. Higher rent can mean a high demand for housing in that neighborhood.
Higher demand for housing means that an area typically has a higher population density- a good indicator for Self Storage demand.
Local Job Density - helps show where in the United States there is strong employment activity. Job and population growth are some of the strongest indicators of Self Storage demand as well.
This layer is available for all Radius+ users! If you’re interested in learning more - be sure to book a call with a Radius+ team member to do a deep dive.
